Our next country in our Around the World Homeschool curriculum was Argentina and Chile. Because we still focused on the rainforest biome for science, there are not a lot of books and activities listed here.
Books:
All out books were spines or related to the rainforest (rainforest resources here).
Activities:
Recipe:
We went all out this week and had Argentinian Beef Stew in Roasted Pumpkin Shell. It was novel and fun, but we were kind of surprised that it didn't have stronger flavors, given the ingredients.
Read Aloud:
This week we started The Boxcar Children Great Adventure: The Khipu and the Final Key. It starts in Argentina and ends in Peru, which was perfect for our schedule.
Art:
We did two art projects this week. The first was a handprint collage inspired by Cueva de las Manos in Argentina. We used art paper and chalk pastels.
Second, Archer used air dry clay to make his own little Moai statue like those from Easter Island.
