Tot Trays - Oval Week

Xander is 18 Months

These are the trays from last week, so they happened during our Oval Week and our Ball Theme.  I try to have the trays link in when I can, but don't feel constrained by making them fit.  I don't intend the trays to be done independently, but rather scaffolded by me.

Tray #1:
The first tray had a Fisher Price piggy bank I found at a garage sale.  He loved putting the coins in and dancing to the different songs.  I also love that he can get the coins out himself, so he can keep putting them without me having to fish them out.

 Tray #2:
As part of his Ball Theme Tot Pack, I made some little puzzle cards.  I put three of the cards on the tray with three corresponding plush balls.  I would have him find me two cards that went together and I would line them up for him.  When we put together all the puzzles, I had him match the ball to each.  This was probably his favorite tray and we did it over and over again!

Tray #3:
This tray had a pattern matching activity from the Ball Tot Pack.  I put all three patterns on the tray, but we only did one at a time.  I also laminated the balls so they'd be a little more sturdy.  Xander needed a lot of help for this activity, but he really enjoyed it!

Puzzle of the Week:
For one of his trays I always try to do a puzzle.  This week's puzzle was the bird from his Beginner Pattern Blocks.  He can put all of the pieces into their spots, but sometimes get frustrated at the triangles if he doesn't get them oriented properly on the first few tries.
