Tot Trays

Since my regular Tot School posts have been getting so long, I decided to split off the Tot Tray segment.  These are the trays from last week, so they happened during our Squares Week and our Pete the Cat Theme.  I try to have the trays link in when I can, but don't feel constrained by making them fit.

Tray #1:
Our first tray had Dado Squares.  While Xander rally wants to be able to build with these, he is not quite there yet.  He does, however, love to deconstruct the things I make!  We also used them to make a big square that he could throw his bean bags into.

Tray #2:
This tray had 5 pairs of cards from our My First Number Pairs game.  We went though them together, talking about the cards and matching them up.  What surprised me was that this was his favorite tray of the week!  He constantly brought me the cards and wanted me to match them up with him.  I would also use his finger to trace the numbers.

Tray #3:
The third tray had Easter eggs and porcupine balls.  He would hand me a ball to close in each egg.  Then he had a ball shaking the eggs and opening them up.

Puzzle of the Week:
For one of his trays I always try to do a puzzle.  He is not actually ready to do puzzles on his own, but loves to do them with me.  We will slowly transition into him doing them without help.  This week's puzzle was another from our Beginnin Pattern Block set.  I chose it because it was our squares we and it had two squares.  He did a pretty good job with it.
