Letter R Week

Letter Formation/Pre-Writing
Tracing the letters with his write and wipe cards and Letter Tracing Pages from 1+1+1=1
Using stickers on the Dot Letters from Confessions of a Homeschooler
Using his Build a Letter Templates and HWWT pieces. First he built the letters on the templates, then he built them by themselves.
Play Dough Letters
I got out our alphabet stamping play dough mat for him to stamp some Rs.  He hadn't played with play dough for a long time, so he had a great time.  I think he used every tool from his Play Doug Fun Box!
Building Ss with pattern blocks.  Templates from Confessions of a Homeschooler.
Literacy
Cut and Paste Phonics Hunt
Thinking Skills
Xander spent a long time one afternoon going through a bunch of the mazes in his Pre-Printing with Mazes Book.
Science
We're still doing our Alphabet in Simple Science, and this week was R for Rough.  We did a few fun activities comparing rough and smooth.  Check back for the full science post!
Art
Decorating some Rs with his design rollers and some washable ink pads.

Just for Fun!
We used his magnatiles and a car for one of his science experiments.  Afterwards he was racing his car through the magnatile tunnel!  I love seeing him play creatively like this.
