Preschool Halloween Activities

We decided to take another break from our weekly alphabet activities to do some Halloween ones.

His school shelf had a few of his Halloween books. Favorites ended up being Alpha Oops H is for Halloween, The Spooky Sound, Ghost in the House and Boo. Above is some artwork.
School shelves had the Go Away Monster! game and a pasta rack with spider rings on top. On the left was a basket with spiders and "web," a train puzzle, Qubix (they get used daily, so I haven't wanted to put them away) and musical instruments. Shelves on the right have a pop up toy, Spike the Hedgehog, a pumpkin felt activity, candy corn number matching, bat word families, pattern blocks and a basket of vehicles.
Go Away Monster! is one of the few games he will actually do a good job of taking turns for the entire game.
I strung string back and forth across the basket and put a bunch of spider rings in the bottom. Archer had to extract them. For older kids, you could have them get them out with tongs or tweezers.
Shaking some maracas.
Felt Jack-o-Lantern activity
Candy Corn Math activity (From ABCs to ACTs)
Halloween sensory bin. I used purple corn kernels, bats, creepy crawlies, pumpkin erasers and some little Halloween containers.
Halloween Playdough - I used cookie cutters, Halloween scatter and googly eyes with our pumpkin pie playdough.
Anyone else do most of their "school" in pjs?
"Playing" Blokus with his spider.
Potions! I put an effervecent tablet (Alka-Seltzer) in each little cauldron with a drop of liquid water color. Then I gave him a cup of vinegar and a dropper.
Cauldron of water beads.
Prek Math
Book math! I got out some ghosts (scatter) to go with Ten Timid Ghosts. Archer made the ghosts "fly away" with the story. We did the same with rubber bats and Five Little Bats Flying in the Night. You could easily do the same with Five Little Pumpkins
Free Math Activity
Beginning sound matching (3 Dinosaurs) with magnetic bingo chips. I like that he could still see the letter through them and he liked using the wand to pick them up.
Halloween Stampers
Halloween Stickers
