Tot School Oval Activities

Archer was 22 Months
We have officially started our Shape Themes in Tot School. You can see the Shape Themes "Curriculum" post here.

This is what Archer's deak area looked like. The posters are from The Learning Effect. The shelf included a couple Non-Fiction Sight Words books, a Meet the Sight Words book, a blends book and an Amazing Animals Reader. I also had the Wild Animal Babies and Parts of Geometric Solids books I made. His artwork from the week is hanging as well.
Play dough included some fondant cutters, an oval stamp and a design roller (Lakeshore Learning).
We also sorted the different sizes of ovals we cut out.

Oval dot art with Do a Dot Markers (Free to print here).
We "traced" some ovals and some lines from my ball printables. I tried putting them in page protectors for him to use with dry erase markers.
Some dollar store letters in a bin of water beads has been one of his favorites so far!
Walking and crawling around an oval balance beam track.
Playroom shelves include both theme related tot school activities and other toys, usually open ended. The goal is to work on things like fine motor skills, visual spacial skills, math and literacy (and keep him entertained). I have been trying to also include one of our toddler games, to get him more used to playing games with us.

The top shelf had a binder with tracing printables, Koala Kapers, and an ellipsoid. The left shelves had some ball vocabulary cards, his spinagain and a car ramp. The right shelves had some sensory balls, some printed ball puzzles, learning link pattern cards, an oval size sorting activity, his disk sorter and cars with highway oval (from Making Learning Fun).
